     Janusz Krzyżowski is the owner and the managing director of the first Private Psychiatric Policlinic in Warsaw. He was born 12 February 1939 in Lodz, the son of Aleksander and Janina Krzyżowski. He studied medicine in the Medical Academy in Lodz and philosophy at the Warsaw University. In 1962 he received a MA Degree at the university and in 1964, after finishing clinical practice in Charile at Humboldt University, Berlin, he took a Doctor Degree. He began as a student and then as a student assistant in the Psychiatric Clinic of the Medical Academy in Gdansk. He published numerous scientific works in Polish and German psychiatric periodicals. From 1966-91, he worked first as an Assistant, then Associate Professor. For many years he was the patron of the student scientific set in the clinic. In 1971 he acquired himself with prospects of application of yoga techniques in contemporary psychiatry during his stay in Santa Cruz Institute, Bombay. In 1972 he stayed in the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry, Munich and in 1981 the Karolinski Institute, Stockholm as holder of a scholarship. He is the author of 64 publications and a book titled "Electroconvulsive Therapy". He is also an author of entries of sexological brand in monumental Polish Medical Dictionary. In 1989 he elaborated several video films, which are auxiliary materials in psychiatric tuition. In 1972 he was honoured with the award of Warsaw Medical Council for opening the first Daily Clinic in Poland. In 1986 he was decorated with the Golden Cross of academic didactic activity. In 1990 he received a scientific award from the rector of the Medical Academy in Warsaw for publications concerning psychopharmacology of dependences. Dr Krzyzowski is a member of the Polish Society of Earth Science. As a Doctor he took part in scientific expeditions organised by the Polish Society of Earth Science: in l986 Tikicaca expedition, in 1989 dramatic expedition in Tibet, in 1990 the mountains of Thailand. For many years Dr Krzyżowski is an experienced collector of old clocks and pictures. He is a passionate traveler, he practices tramping. He takes the particular active interest in the countries of oriental culture. In 1965 he got married to Gabriela, a translator in Russian, and they have two children.
